After a severe battering in 2009, the Russian economy seemed to pick up during the 4 quarter of 2009 and over 1,000 charter flights left Russia during the New Year period and over 2 million people travelled abroad, in what is the second most period for foreign travel for Russians after the summer. All of this is good news and suggests that both the Russian economy and the travel industry are recovering. The Monaco tourism Board will open up its representative office in Moscow in 2010 and Tour operators expect positive growth. However, what is unlikely to change is the great surge of Russian travelers now booking on-line, the pace of this change is likely to increase. For more strategic information about the Russian market, please set up a meeting with us at ITB or MITT by sending me an E mail.
