Dear Subscriber,

Helene LloydAs London prepares for the Olympics, Russians will be increasingly heading for Paris, as finally the monopoly of the national carriers was broken, this happened in 2006 for flights to London, when BMI and Transaero finally broke the BA - Aeroflot monopoly. However the BA takeover of BMI will mean that Virgin Atlantic airlines will finally gain enter the Russian market, after many years of trying. Greece continues to do well in the Russian market, despite problems in more traditional markets. And finally after 18 years of negotiations Russia enters the World Trade Organization.

Best regards,
