Russia's Regional Hotel Chain (RHC) has signed a development agreement with the Rezidor Hotel Group to build 20 Park Inn hotels in Russia over the next 3 years. They also signed a management agreement for 2 Park Inn hotels already under construction - in Astrakhan and Kazan, scheduled to open in 2010. RHC plans to open 50 properties in Russia by 2014. RHC is a project company established in 2006 with the goal of becoming market leader in the regional mid-market hospitality, developed in partnership of the Russian Railways.
InterContinental Hotels Group will build a new Holiday Inn hotel in Moscow of 1,000 rooms. This will be the biggest hotel of this brand in the world. The new property will be constructed at the premises of Crocus Expo exhibition site by 2014. At present InterContinental operates 7 hotels in Russia: 6 under Holiday Inn brand and one Crowne Plaza.
