More Airline Carriers from Moscow to Hong Kong

aeroplaneIn March, 2 new airlines announced their plans to start regular flights from Moscow to Hong Kong, until now, Aeroflot was the only airline with a direct flight. As of June, Cathay Pacific will start flying from Moscow to Hong Kong 3 times a week, also from June, Transaero will become a carrier for this destination.

In January, S7 Airlines, one of Russia's leading private airlines, signed a code sharing agreement with Iberia for flights between Moscow and Madrid, and increase the no. of flights to 12 flights per week on this route. S7 is planning to join the One World Airline alliance by the end of 2010.

In February, Qatar Airways will increase the no. of flights from Moscow to Doha from 7 to 10 flights per week. The route is demand by passengers flying to Sri Lanka, Malaysia, Maldives, Bali and Goa.

In April, German low cost airlines German Wings opens direct flights from Moscow to Hannover that will operate 4 times a week.

Low cost airline Ryanair will start direct flights from Dusseldorf (Weeze airport) to a small Finnish town of Lappenranta, which is on the border with St-Petersburg in April. The route, operated twice a week, is aimed at the travelers from St-Petersburg and the North West region interested in the low cost flights to Europe.

In June, Delta Airlines is planning to resume Direct flights from Moscow to Atlanta, which were suspended in September 2009 due to the lack of demand. Now flights are scheduled to be 3 times a week, and are of particular interest to passengers flying via Atlanta to Miami.
