As of March 28, 2013, the British low cost airline EasyJet will start flying from Manchester to Moscow to Manchester 4 times a week. One way ticket will cost from 72$. The airline will also start flights from Gatwick London to Domodedovo, Moscow, after recently winning the airline slot against Virgin Airways, the flights to Moscow will also commence in the Spring of 2013.

On December 26, 2012, S7 Airlines will start direct regular flights from Moscow to Verona (Northern Italy). The flight will be operated 3 times a week from Moscow’s Domodedovo Airport. The new route is primarily aimed at the skiing travelers, but the regions of Veneto and Trentino are steadily increasing Russian traffic year round. in 2011 74,000 Russians visited these regions, which was 50% more than 2010 and 100% than in 2009, an impressive growth rate for this Northern region of Italy.

For the summer season 2013, S7 Airline will operate a new flight from Moscow to Zadar in Croatia, an important summer destinations for the Russian market, although traffic may decrease due to the introduction of the visas in 2013. S7 airlines already flies to Dubrovnik, Split and Pula in Croatia.

A new flight by Neos S.p.A will connect St-Petersburg and Milan starting from the winter season 2012-2013. Neos is a small Italian airline with 8 aircrafts flying from Malpensa airport. Earlier this year, Neos was appointed by the Italian authorities to operate a no. of routes that were previously operated by WindJet, an airline which went bankrupt.

On November 7, 2012, Yakutia Airline (Russia) will start direct regular flights from Moscow to Dresden in Germany. The flight will operate out of Vnukovo airport in Moscow 3 times a week. Earlier this year, Yakutia also received permission to start flights from Sochi and Krasnodar in the South of Russia to Beijing, China.
