  • As of April 2010, Aeroflot will increase the number of its Moscow - Hong Kong flights from 4 to 5 per week. Other carriers, Transaero and Cathy Pacific are also planning to open Moscow - Hong Kong routes. The demand for this destination in the Russian market has increased since summer 2009, when Hong Kong became a visa free destination for the Russians.
  • Following a growing demand for Thailand in Russia in November 2009, Transaero has increased their number of direct flights from Moscow to Phuket from 3 to 6 per week, and increased the size of the planes flying on the daily flights to Bangkok. Aeroflot has also increased its frequency to Bangkok to a daily flight.  
  • Germany Wings, the German budget airline has launched a 4 times a weekly service from Moscow to Hanover from April 2010. In December 2009, Alitalia launched a new direct flight Moscow - Turin.
