Swissôtel Hotels & Resorts signed a management agreement to open a new hotel in Kazan in 2016. Kazan is key city 700 KM East of Moscow and an increasingly important city for international tourism and will host the Universiade Games in 2013.  The new Swissôtel Riviera Tower Kazan will be the 4th Swissotel property in Russia, including the Swissôtel Krasnye Holmy in Moscow, with 2 further hotels planned to open in Sochi in 2013.

Accor intends to have a network of 50 hotels in the Russia - CIS region by 2016. The group currently has 14 hotels (3,500 rooms) in the region including Russia, Ukraine and Turkmenistan. It plans to expand into Armenia, Belarus, Georgia, and Kazakhstan. The Sofitel, Novotel, Ibis and Mercure brands are already established in the region, and the group also plans to launch a Pullman and Adagio in 2013 and 2014.

Rezidor plans to open the Park Inn by Radisson Odintsovo on the outskirts of Moscow in the Q3 of 2012. It will be located in 'Russia's Silicon Valley', Skolkovo, nearby the planned high technology business innovation centre and Vnukovo international airport.
