As of the summer 2012, S7 Airlines will start flying from Moscow to Athens, Greece. The weekly flight will run from Domodedovo airport. Other new routes for S7, from this March, are the flights from Khabarovsk and Vladivostok to Tokyo. Both flights will be operated two times per week, with Airbus carriers.

wizzThe low cost carrier from Hungary Wizz Air will replace the national carrier Malev which went bankrupt, and will operate the Moscow-Budapest route.

Turkish Airlines increased the frequency of flights between Moscow and Ankara. As of January 15, flights are daily, instead of previously 4 times per week. Another new route for Turkish Airlines in Russia is from Novosibirsk to Istanbul, which starts on March 14th, with a 3 times per week frequency.

From June 3, 2012, German low cost airline German Wings stop flights from Moscow to Berlin. The route will be operated only by Lufthansa twice a day from Vnukovo airport. All other Russian routes by German wings will remain.
