Summer Holidays

According to a recent market research carried out in Russia, 45% of Russians will spend their summer holidays at home. According to the Russian public opinion research center, this mainly accounts for people with lower incomes who live in rural areas of Russia. Of the 55% of Russians who plan to go on holiday, 9% plan to spend their holidays abroad, while 33% Russians would like to go abroad if they could afford to.

For Russians who are going to travel for their summer holidays, 37% prefer a sun and sea based holiday, while 25% are interested in  sightseeing or culturally focused holiday. Wellness holidays and activity holidays are also popular with Russian travelers.

 According to the survey, the average spent of Russians for their summer holidays this summer, will be 27 000 RUB per person (around 625 EUR or 900 USD). A 2% increase on last years spend according to the same research. People living in Moscow and St Petersburg have a much bigger income than average in Russia, and will spend around 33 000 RUB per person, or 1,000 EUR each on their holidays.
