The Four Seasons St. Petersburg is expected to open in July, 2013. The official opening date is announced to be July 7th.  The hotel occupies the famous House with the Lions mansion, right next to the St. Isaac’s Cathedral, in the center of St. Petersburg. This will be the first Four Seasons property in Russia.

In the first part of 2013, Moscow saw some interesting hotel openings including Novotel Moscow City in the City (business) area of Moscow, the first “capsule” hotel, Sleepbox Hotel Tverskaya, and Nikolskaya Kempinski Moscow in the historic  center of Moscow, next to Red Square.  Other expected openings in 2013 include the Marriott Novy Arbat, the DoubleTree by Hilton at Vkukovo international Airport, the DoubleTree by Hilton Moscow Leningradsky Riverside and Hilton Garden Inn Moscow. This will increase the hotel rooms in the city of Moscow by 1500 new rooms.

International hotel brands are also expanding into the Russian regions, with the Hilton Garden Inn opening in Krasnodar; Marriott signed an agreement to open a hotel in Ulyanovsk under the Courtyard brand by 2015. While a Ramada property opened recently in Kazan, the capital of Tatarstan Republic of Russia, the Accor Group is planning to launch a Novotel in Kazan in the near future.
