In November 2010, the Tunisian carrier NouvelAir will start regular flights from Domodedovo Airport, Moscow to Cartage, Tunisia. The weekly flight will start operating from April 2009, Nouvelair has already been operating Moscow from Monastir to Moscow, carrying over 47,000 passengers from Russia to Tunisia.

As of Dec 2, 2010, Air Astana, the national carrier of Kazakhstan, will start new regular flights from Almaty to St-Petersburg in Russia. The flight will operate twice a week. Earlier in November, a regular flight started from Astana to Yekaterinburg, Russia was launched. Other new routes opened from Almaty to Tashkent, Uzbekistan and Dushanbe, Tajikistan, as part of the expansion of Air Astana network in the CIS region.

Starting from January 17, 2011, Air France and Rossiya Airlines (based at Pulkovo Airport, St-Petersburg) start operating code sharing flights between St-Petersburg and Paris. Rossiya is the leading carrier for the North West region of Russia, covering over 70 destinations across Russia, 22 in the CIS and 20 European and Asian routes.

Spanish low cost carrier Vueling will start flying from Moscow to Barcelona from December 25 until the end of March 2011. Starting from April, there will be 5 flights a week and from June this will become a daily route

Russian national carrier Aeroflot signed up a deal with Boeing to buy 16 new aircrafts Boeing 777-200ER and Boeing 777-300ER. The planes will be supplied from 2012-2017.
